La Fitness in Los Angeles, California - L.A. Fitness will not cancel membership.

I have tried to cancel the week to week membership my daughter has because she went off to college. L.A. Fitness says they did not get the form that had to be mailed to confirm the cancelization. You can sign up on line, but you have to go through a real ordeal to cancel, then they don't cancel. They have kept charging me. I am trying to get my money back through my bank. When you try to talk to someone you only can get some greeter at one of their clubs. There is no way to talk to anyone with any authority. I will never deal with L.A. Fitness again.

Operation Managers at each location are now "authorized" to cancel memberships in the clubs. They weren't allowed to in house cancel before. Go back in and have the Operations Mgr cancel for you.

I wanted a personal trainer, so I was told by an employee (Brian) which is no longer with LA, signed me up for 3months then decide from there if I wanted to continue. I signed for them to take $200 for 3 months plus a activation fee, and rec'd no paperwork. Now no one...

just go and cancel *** you most likley signed a 1 year contract and there is no Crannberry locations. You signed up most likley at North Hills.

LA FITNESS - ROCKVILLE - MD

I have been a yoga teacher at LA Fitness in Rockville MD - for 6 mths. Loved my students...doubled attendance at both of my classes after working there only one month. Because of low pay - I have had to return to nursing. I asked if they would allow me to keep one 8pm night class....substitute when I could. Not only did they give this no consideration ( although I do understand companies have policies) -- they did not consider. Nor did they say thank you. They would not allow me to teach one last class to say goodbye to my students. They do not care about their staff - and they clearly do not care about members.. It is all about money and numbers. Was a member of Bally total fitness for years not only did they try to sly cancel me and re charge me gain it's 349$ to join it is all about money don't join them hope they flop it's too much for folks these days work out somewhere else

Thanks for the explanation as everyone was asking. Staff turnover there is the worst I have ever seen in any gym.

I wish you the best as you were excellent and are well missed.

The person who replaced you is so bad I no longer go to that 8pm class and attendance is dropped in half at that class. Have a good holiday season.

we are in Fl. 3mos. a year, In signed a 12 mo., contract with trainers I am being billed$288.00 a mo. for their services even though we don't arrive untill Jan. I have been paying 10.60 a month since I left in March. I can't leave this contract I am freezing my credit card with them. I had no idea theycould bill you when the center knew we were in Fl mfor only 3 mos. a year We live in rural Wi. Milwaukee is the closes center 200 miles away Any thoughts for a solution? Jackie

Terrible People At LA Fitness Boca

I would just like to let everyone out there know that I printed out a simple three day pass to work out, and when I got to the gym, a worker named Scott argued with my non stop even raising his voice about how there was no such thing as a pass, although I had it in my hand. Very poor customer service, looked way to busy. Then the Scott person said he could not help me out any further unless I were to sign an contract with him at the gym. Seems like the work off commission. Very Weird Place.

Pay backs to La Fitness... Because of there fine staff now the gym floor has to be removed due to a fire sprinkler damaged that couldn't be shut off. If La Fitness would train there staff how to maintain the pool's and Jacuzzi these things could have been avoided. The Jacuzzi has been broken going on a week now and the pool is a septic tank. The pumps have been turned off for 2 weeks in the pool. The water today Tuesday 10, 2011 is cloudy with dead skin and body fluids from swimmers. I have brought this to there attention over a week ago and nothing has been done to resolve this issue. I have been a member of this gym for 4 yrs and have been very understanding but the rope is running short. The men's locker still has mold growing on the walls and ceiling. After complaints from members they finally have a male janitor that cleans the place but doesn't do anything to remove the black mold issues. The ventilation in the shower room is nothing. The have put a solid glass door between the showers and locker room stopping all air movement. Thus causing the mold the perfect environment. The Department of Health of Gresham is aware of this but they aren't doing anything to promote better conditions.

Steroid muscleheads rude La Fitness Staten Island,New York

I love LaFitness Staten Island,NY but once an awhile I encounter rude musclehead that has no respect for anyone at gym or could careless about taking weights off barbell after using.The biggest joke is the sign posted on mirrors saying we are under survellance and if we do not rerack weights we can lose on membership.I saw two idiots recklessly leave 6 45lb plates on incline bench and walked away laughing like it all was a big joke.Maybe your Mom or Sister might have wanted to use that bench.I was suprised no one mentioned it to these 2 jerks.I know ther were workers in the vicinity but nothing was said.I did not want to say anything because I was once arrested for assault and it was not pleasant.Anyway I have a family so I overlooked this matter.The final straw was I was using the flat bench next to this dynamic duo when one of the jerks threw the weights to the floor after doing a set.The barbell bounced almost striking my hand as I was grabbing a dumbell.This *** did not even have the decency to say he was sorry the dumbell almost striked me.I must say I do not know what would have happened if the dumbell had hit me but I am glad it did not.I will not let these types of *** _ffs get to me anymore.I only have one question for 50-60 a month where is the staff?????????????????

Steroids a common problem at the big national chain gyms because there are a lot of potential steroid customers for the drug dealers. Steroid dealing is no better than crack selling and many roid sellers also sell the so called recreational drugs.

Some dealers try to minimize their criminal behavior by only selling steroids or to "serious" lifters most of whom are bunch of narcissists.

Best bet in a gym setting is an anonymous but detailed complaint to corporate headquarters and the local police or DEA to get rid of the steroid sellers and users. Could almost guarantee those steroid sales are taking place in or near the gym.

I just started working there (basically b/c I couldn't get another gym job). Believe me pal, you may pay 50-60 a month but the staff is getting minimum wage unless you go out and blanket the whole area advertising.

Unless you sell alot of memberships and become mgmt, you're not going to make great money there. So you think for that little money, we're going to risk confronting some juiced up roid monsters.... PLEASE! I guess it helps having the South America drug connection b/c it looks like most of the spanish guys (the majority of guys in the N.

Jersey club)are juicing.

You kinda lose motivation to workout for health reason because you feel like a little runt next to these guys. :-(

La Fitness in Boca Raton, Florida - Cancellation Nightmare!!!

I stopped by the gym in Boca Raton to request cancellation of my personal fitness services. I was given a letter and told to fill it out and mail it. Even after doing so, I was still charged and received collection calls. I was told the letter was never received, convenient answer. However interestingly enough this is the 2nd time this happens to me at LA Fitness. A couple years ago I went through the same ordeal to cancell my membership. I should have learned the lesson the first time. It seems like a regular practice to lose or misplace letters and continue billing customers. I work at a bank and this kind of complaint is more common than you'd wish to know.

La Fitness in London, England - Cancellation nightmare

After I don't know how many years (maybe 12) and for the last 4-5 months not using the gym I decided to cancel my membership with LA Fitness. I always heard bad feedback about the gym and question why people was so upset for the last year with the LA Fitness gym at London Wall but now I can say I know why. Mr Manager, for you and me Gary from London Wall LA Fitness (no surname as he deny to give to me with an irreverent attitude and impolite manners) couldn't be more unhelpful and arrogant to deny any help in making the cancellation. This is very frustration when you see everyday their sales people smiling to possible clients and selling how wonderful the facilities and team are. Be careful because when you look for your way out I had Mr Gary exactitude, several hours of waiting game over the phone, a couple of emails and filling forms and finally when I feel that I'm getting there and I would get my membership cancellation someone from the head office says very politely: - "Sorry madam but now you need to pay for an extra month cancellation fee" Grate!

I read the blogs and it seems one complaint that keeps coming up over and over is it is so hard to cancel the membership. Personally i just called my bank and told them to remove them from my automatic payment and no more payments. Let them call you so you can put them on hold for hours.

Horrible service at LA Fitness in Cincinnati Ohio at the Oakely loaction by Lawerence

I have been experiencing the worst customer service at LA fitness and am unable to get in contact with the right people to help me. Previously, when I join the young lady that sign me and my friend on my account gave us the wrong tags, instead of documenting the tags correctly they let it go on for months. When I request for someone to be taken of my account they kept charging me for that person so I tried to cancel my services. I have spoken to the Operational manger several times and each time he gave me a phony name. I call the customer service line for them to tell me that they do not have Manny Crowley, that they have Lawrence . On the 22nd I got a call from the sales rep willing to wave all the past balances if I rejoined, I told her I would be the only one rejoining she debited my account and told me I shouldn't have any problems. Well, today I go in and was treated very poorly by a young black man, he gave me a phony name wouldn't give me his supervisor's name or number, also refuse to let me speak to someone else and threaten to charge my account for the past due balance that was suppose to be waived. I asked to get the corporate contact and he said is corporate and that everyone reports back to him. I really love coming to the gym because the other trainers are very sweet and even the cleaning crew speaks and helps me out. But I am so disgusted at the treatment that I received today that I don't want to come back. The treatment that I received today was not only unprofessional, but also very unethical and I refuse to invest my time or money where I can not get treated right. Several times I have address this young man that he has my account documented wrong and for him to be so selfish, and indignant to correct the situation and provide go face to face customer service is shameful on your company.
