Been trying for a month to cancel membership, which, oddly, one can not do by phone or walking into a local fitness center (Note: I had no problems writing a check and signing up by walking in). As a member of the military who recently received orders, I went to my...

Went into an LA fitness in Brampton, Canada ....decided to use ladies room before my work out..only to be greeted by a very offensive and tacky note posted on the wall by its management , addressing all women of the club stating "this is not your home, if you are caught coloring your hair in the bathroom your membership will be cancelled." I thought to myself how disgusting and tacky of the leadership of the gym. I wonder if there is a sign at the entrance of the men's room saying "please do not *** all over the floor, this is not your home." To note.....I have ever seen a male bathroom attendant cleaning the bathrooms...it's always been a female leaning the bathrooms....so i suppose it does not consider its male users need to be reminded to use some care and consideration when *** or *** all over the floor that the female attendant needs to clean up.

La Fitness in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Body of change Langhorne, PA is a scam DO NOT JOIN!

You do not even have to sign up or even participate because the general managers of body of change STEAL CREDIT CARD NUMBERS from the LA FITNESS computers and enroll you into thier program. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD! Please save your money and contract a non-corporate trainer if you want personal training or do home training. You don't have any contracts and you will get even better training because the staff is horrible. The trainers do not know anything but to try to get a date for friday night and how to do crunches. I know that $45/half hour session is not worth that nonsense!!

I agree the training employees do SUCK!!! my personal trainer canceled many sessions and for 2 weeks was no where to be found! I tried calling him but his best excuse was, "My phone isn't working." It should be the trainer touching base with his customers, not the customers tracking down their trainer!

I agree that body of change at LA fitness langhorne PA is absolutely horrible. I know that most trainers do not even have a valid training certificate and those that do only got it from sitting through a saturday class for 8 hours.

I want to warn people because if you don't know what to ask or how your training should be - you wouldn't know how poor the staff is. Also, they do not pay attention to your form - which causes inquries. Please stay away from them and contact a private personal trainer.

Not only will you get better results - but will be cheaper. Most trainers are only $25/half hour session.

Hey.I got scamed as well.I'm trying to cancel my membership now for almost 6 months and they used my credit card without me knowing it, because I slided it once when I signed up. Don't ever DO THAT!

I'm going to the media now, because i do have great contacts to the media.I'm working for a PR guy that discovered a huge scam in 1989 when the city of Los Angeles was manipulating the parking meters. The city ended up paying over 15 million dollars back! If we all stand up together we can make a change.

If you like to be part of this story send me your email address and I will keep you up to date!

LA Fitness - scamed on personal training

My wife joined and was given a hard sell billed as an orientation to sign up for personal training. This turned out to be an automatically renewing contract which would cost $ 5000 / yr. She did not actually read it and stupidly signed ! Once your name is on the dotted line, you are dead ! They refuse to let you off except by the contract terms which is for 50 % of the remaining cost. At 50 % of the first 6 months (which I calculated as $ 1250), this is pretty expensive, but LA Fitness figures this at $ 1550 since the first month somehow doesn't count as remaining. This has so far cost me $ 1700 without actually having a personal training session. (The wife tried to schedule one, but the trainers are never available - and if you don't get them in, you also pay.) Same problem in quitting my membership. Sent written notice by certified mail (as they require) and still they try to charge my credit card for monthly dues. No toll free number - no customer service. Their marketing philosophy seems to be to offer a low price and "month to month" contract and then scam you for anything they can. If you join just say NO, NO, NO, and don't bother to take any "orientations". If you quit, cancel whatever credit card you gave them immediately and be sure to send the cancel notice by registered mail as they will be sure to "lose" it. If someone says they will "take care of cancelling" over the phone, tape it because I can assure you they are lying. Even though you can never contact them by phone without being on hold for an hour, be prepared to get twice daily phone calls from them on your cell

LA Fitness Corona Ca Pro Results Training Lies

I signed up for three months of personal training. After completeing the training, and going through four different trainers because they all quit or were fired, my last trainer told me I was all paid up and everything was taken care of. They have now deducted over $600 out of my checking acount because i didn't cancel in writing 30 days prior to my last session. The management was extremley rude and they say there is nothing they can do about it. Now I have eight more training sessions I don't want and can't get my money back. Don't trust the sales people and whatever you do - Don't sign any contracts with LA Fitness!!!

Bad experience. It started with the sales person trying sell me a more expensive membership.

Since he approached the whole thing in an insulting and demeaning manner, I decided not to join. A few weeks later I got a call from a different sales person asking why I didn't join. When I told him why, he asked me to please give them a second chance and he would treat me differently. Well he was a lot nicer.

But I did not get the membership he said he was signing me up for. What he said he signed me up for gave me more priviledges than what he actually signed me up for. I got absolutely no where trying to remedy this and was treated like dirt. I was only trying to make things right.

Stay away from LAFitness in San Diego/ Clairemont area. And be very careful when you sign up. They have you sign the paper before viewing the agreement.

They lied to me to get me to sign up and never to date made it right but instead called me a liar. It isn't worth the headache.
