La Fitness review: Violent Custodian

Jersey Village, Texas location 2-21-17: Male custodian with vacuum cleaner encroaches me while dressing in locker room; actually uses the vacuum to clean the areas around my feet while I'm tying my shoes. I ask him politely to step out of my space. His reply is to take the vacuum extension chord and pop it around my neck! I tell him I am going to report him to manager and he says "good you do that right now I don't care". I take his pic to show manager and he gives me an evil stare and tries to push me then punches me in the shoulder with his fist as I leave the area. There are several witnesses. I immediately report to manager and he fills out an incident report. Aggressive custodians are a safety issue at this location.

I had an account, unused which is my bad, for about 6 months. I had a situation where I moved and was no longer close to the gym. They wouldnt cancel my membership over the phone and instead required me to mail in something or come in person. I figured I could come in quicker than I could mail and avoid the next billing cycle. I got in there and the manager wasnt there so they werent going to cancel. I urged them they needed to handle it so they called another store, asked for my phone number and had the account canceled within 30 seconds. Thats all it took. However, I still got billed because it wasnt 5 days before the billing cycle. I contacted the Houston, TX customer support at this number, 281-640-9946, on 2/21/2017 and spoke with the manager on duty. She refused to work with me and became rude, which in turn made me rude, She stated she would rather have bad reviews then try to work with me. So here it is. The gym is garbage and the support is garbage and their fees are VERY high. I suggest trying another gym and stop supporting this garbage.

LA FITNESS CANCELLATION HORRORS AND HOW TO GET RID OF THEM FOR GOOD!

First and most important step guys, CALL YOUR BANK and tell them to block any incoming charges from LA Fitness, they WILL keep charging you even if you change your card number. These freaking devils. I tried cancelling and they told me they did it. The next month a charge shows up but didn't go through because luckily I had just deposited all my money on that card to my other card. As soon as the charge failed they began calling me at ALL TIMES every single day. When I tried to cancel again they told me I had to pay a balance of $80 wtf? I went to the club in person and the guy working there literally told me LA Fitness are scammers and I should just let them call and change my CC and in 3 months it would auto cancel. So I did that. Yesterday I go to use my card and it declines, when i check the bank LA fitness had taken $200 and an extra $5 from my NEW account. Like how did they even get the freaking number? Anyways, I called the provider and told them to block any charges from LA Fitness. The lady immediately acknowledged my request and was like "oh, them again" so clearly this is not the first time it happens to someone. Hopefully now I will finally be rid of these demons. If you want to work out guys, buy some gym equipment or join a small scale gym, I promise you it will come out cheaper and less tedious in the long run.

What did you want this person to do, break their rules and end up with financial problems and not be able to pay their bills?

You people have to understand that you're dealing with other people who have their own issues, many of which are solved by earning a salary.

Long short, DO NOT SIGN any contract that you're not 100% sure you can fulfill.

That means if you can't be sure your job is going to be around in 5 years, DO NOT sign a car note or any other note for that matter and expect the collector at the other end, who has bills to pay to show mercy.

Thing of it is we all take a chance when we sign contracts. Something, anything can go down that will make it next to impossible to pay.

Deal with it and don't whine about people who are just trying to maintain in the world we live in.

The training contract is very dishonest. They make you sign things you can not read. Do not ever sign on the small pad. Have them print the contract and read it. They are very dishonest. You will be stuck paying a lot of money.

Details
At Bristol, CT. Do not have same equipment between personal training space and general training. Limited equipment and not allow to share equipment from Personal training space with general area even there are no training at that time. After taking personal training we get use to those equipment, then when we stop personal training they not allow us to use equipment with out signup for personal training. and general area do not have same equipment..it sad! I do not know if this is a personal issue or the company policy, but it seem like it have not put in a lot caring for cub members Other clubs more friendly about this issue than LA Fitness.

People are lied to constantly... I worked there and saw people lied to constantly, manipulated and treated poorly.

I have never seen something so bad or people taken advantage of so badly.

This is not an isolated thing and encouraged to get numbers with each club of theirs I have seen. There are many much better options out there.

I just spoke with Art at 949 255 7200. The corporate number.

Same run around that I signed a contract. (My fault for believing I was signing up for just a months worth of sessions). I told him they have issues with the practices of signing people up without being honest. He told me there was room for improvement with the staff.

But it got me nowhere. I would truly love to sue this company. There seems to be enough people complaining of the same deciteful practices.

I am going to post negative reviews with BBB but where will that really get me. I am sick to my stomach at the shady practices.
