I had the SAME EXACT ISSUE. I am looking to take them to small claims court.

They're ripped me for over $700 and my cancellation fee was 1500$. Unacceptable.

La Fitness - Personel trainer

I was a member of la fitness glendale ,my personel trainer was a good guy, he was fired becuz he was training clients outside the gym.before i could cancel my membership i got to know from another client that this personel trainer carlos is willing to train clients outside the gym,house or park,i was so surprised,why he wasnt fired,anyway i feel there is lot of politics involved in the workplace.there was rumors about carlos sleeping around clients so he gets to keep his clients.as far as i came to know his clients, change the gym after they are dumped by this flirty trainer.yes its true ,godoy rocio was fooled by this trainer.

Unhappy with everything la fitness stands for

I've been going to LA fitness for about 2 years now and have had a training contract for the same amount of time. I absolutely have loved all my trainers and the gym itself but I have had so many issues with the company and money and contracts. The first red flag I had is that you are allotted 1 training session a week every month except they don't bill you once a month like every 8th or whatever date so it comes out earlier and earlier every month to sneakily take more money from you. I asked the manager if there was anyway to change this and he said absolutely what date do you want it to come out and the next month it did come out on the correct day. but the following month it came out a few days earlier again. so I asked the same guy and he said oh no you can only change it for one month and it goes back to every 28 days again. and then recently the training director informed me that my trainer was being promoted to "master trainer" and that she would be doing more innovative things and holding me accountable and stuff like that and that my $120 a month bill would be increased to $140 if I wanted to continue with her. I said fine that's not a big deal if I'm getting more money for better service. except the training never differed. I asked my trainer and she said that wasn't true about changing the training but she did get "promoted" without a raise from her $12/hour rate which is only 17% percent of the $35 I pay for half an hour. this summer I have been training at a different gym closer to work with an awesome trainer who was also a "master trainer" I had worked out with him about 5 times until one day my account said I had no more sessions to use except I knew I had 6 left. I talked to the training director (I have only ever discussed my accounts with the same employee so he knows me and my situation well) and he said he would figure it out. he never did but the trainer figured out it was because he was a master trainer but if I upgrade my account we would be able to continue training together. I explained that someone had already updated my account and I have trained with him before and nothing had changed. I'm supposed to talk to the training director this week about what's going on with my account. at this point I am ready to TRY to cancel my contract if they would even allow me to without closing my bank account and opening up a new one so they can't continue taking money out. with the gym membership and teaching I spend $170 a month (actually more because of the 28 day rotation) and should not be dissatisfied with anything this gym is doing. so not only do they pay their trainers 17% of the money I spend and brag about their employee turn over rate because if someone quits some other *** will work for minimum wage but they are ruthless in taking people's money and lying about how they operate. cannot wait to be free from them and switch to a gym and NEVER sign a contract again.

LA Fitness Ranch Cucamonga Font desk Associates

I have been a member of LA Fitness for 10 plus years, and have never had a problem until now. I have brought many people to the gym with me to get them to sign up. I never imagined that I would be treated the way I have been. I have been trying to get my girlfriend to go to the gym with me for 7 years now, and have always gotten the NO answer until recently. We head to my local LA Fitness, and am greeted by a young lady at the front desk. I told her I was bringing in a friend to check out there establishment and she will be more them likely signing up for a membership. The girl asked for a guess pass, and I told her I don't have one, they have always done it for me here. The girl mind you has been nothing but attitude the entire time said, " without a pass she can't come in, or she can pay $15.00 to come in." With disbelieve I politely looked at her and said, " so what your saying is, that we can leave and go get one, or she has to pay the $15.00? With a puzzled mind blown confusion we left. I got home and was very blown away still, so I contacted another location and ask them there policy, there were very sorry, and apologetic, and even gave her a free two week trial. So for that I'd like to thank Brandon Harris at the Upland location for that, and the follow up he did the next day. I have also contacted the corporate location in Irvine and have expressed to them the situation. They apologized over and over again, saying that we will take care of this and we will get back to you. We will make this right not only to you and your girlfriend. I am not surprised that I haven't heard back from them, I will never go back to LA Fitness in Rancho Cucamonga, nor will I ever step foot in any LA Fitness again. I was embarrassed at this young ladies attitude, and how she treated me, and my girlfriend. Mostly I am embarrassed at how LA Fitness takes care of there members. I have spoken to 33 friends of mine that are members, and we all have cancelled or will be cancelling are memberships. Is it obvious and clear they do not care, about anyone but themselves. Someone said the girl with the bad attitudes name was Heather, I'm not sure nor do I really care. I just know she is a short little Hispanic looking gal, that always wears knee high leather boots, and acts as if her *** doesn't stink.

La Fitness - Review

After joining the Orlando area location , I got free personal training and signed up for 12 lessons. Next am my lumbar pain returned. I have some disc problems that flared up. So I went back the next day and wanted to cancel the contract. The director tried in a very sleazy way not to cancel the contract. Even when i explained the medical problem that had flared up but just the first day, she was ruthless and demeaning. Finally when I really got upset and had to just tell her firmly and angrily that she agreed to give the refund. Then she rudely ripped the contract. Very very rude behavior. Please just say NO to their sleazy contracting practices.

La Fitness - Facility Review

I have been a member for about a year and a half. The place is very generic, crowded, and filthy. You can tell by the position and the number of used band aids around the pool and the used paper towels and tampons on the shower's floor that nobody noticed, let alone cleaned the place in a while. The pool has visible dirt on the bottom of it and mold all around. The personnel is not professional and not considerate with customers. Once one alarm went off in the pool area for an hour and nobody cared to come and turn it off. When I mentioned to the receptionists he just shrugged. The manager also has the 'take or leave it' attitude. Obviously they are not hungry for business. It is true that the place is cheaper than others, but you will be treated as if they are doing you a great favor for that small price difference. It is not worth it.

How come the manger in the la fitness in miami garden did not know that the women sauna is broken with all the people that come to this gym is a chame that it been a week an they have no idea when it is going to get fix but they are quick to tell you when you havent paid will I get a refund since I cant use all the facilaty an why should I go out of my way like they sugest for me to go too the one in north miami chame on you I am going to start looking for another gym

La Fitness - Facility Review

I signed up for a 90 day membership because I wanted to try the facility out before I made a long term commitment. I was told by Kevin that I could sign up on June 29th in order to lock in the promotional price but we could start the 90s at a later date because I was going out of town for work and I have a scheduled surgery so I wanted my membership to start September 1 to December 1 I was reassured that this was totally doable but I had to sign up that day to lock in the rate I said sure. I called into the gym just out of curiosity and because I met someone that was a member and had issues and I left a message for Joey the manager and he didn't call me back so I ended up calling him back and he told me there was nothing he could do about it and I had to call corporate because my membership was from June 29th to September 29th so I either want my membership dates changed to the correct dates or I would like to get my money back otherwise I will contact my bank and tell them that I was fraudulently charged for a membership that I did not receive and was done under false pretenses
