I recenttly started memership and one year a personal trainer. Within a month I had periformis syndrome and doctor gave a letter for temporarily not to go to gym.

since the pain is more i decided to cancel the membership. LA Fitness is chargin 50 % of the annual fee Which is not at all acceptable. I explained many times that i just started the membership and because of health issues, i can not continue. but LA fitness said, they go only by paper.

I think if this happens to their kids they will still go by paper and not by heart. Their customer service is very rude. They dont value the humans they value only the papers and agreements.

This is the worst company I have seen. The customer service is disconnecting the phone and the people at the la fitness center are very rude and not at all helpful.

Poor Customer Service

Once they get you to sign on the dotted line - they do not care about your needs after that! We (husband, sister and I) joined the gym strictly for the pool and hot tub. Since joining the hot tub has been shut down more that it has been open. The pool was way to hot then way to cold and I all got was it is being fixed this week. OVER AND OVER AND OVER! Not one person knew exactly when it was going to be fixed. THEN finally it was fixed - right......nope not a week later - the hot tub barriers on it again. The manager was going to call me numerous times - how many calls did I get - NONE! Then I get a random call from someone saying we noticed you haven't been to the gym - no kidding - your pool and hot tub isn't working. Then I drive to Oshawa because the front desk staff told me it was working - they can see it from the front desk!! Got there and yup you guessed it - NOT WORKING. They sent me to Whitby and what...........yup not working as well. I guess I am the *** one for listening to them. Unfortunately this is my second time round with this gym and it will be my last. They keep their staff in the dark or they pretend really well. Too bad really.

CRIME AT THE CLUB

I VISITED THE LAKE SUCESS CLUB ON 12/06/16 AND LOCKED MY BELONGING IN THERE COMBINATION STYLE LOCKERS. WELL, WHEN I RETURNED AFTER MY WORK OUT, THE LOCKER WAS LOCKED BUT WHEN I OPENED IT MY MONEY WAS MISSING THAT WAS IN MY POCKET. THERE WAS A LEAST 300 BUCKS THERE. I DID REPORT IT TO THE FRONT DESK AND THE LADY THERE ACTED LIKE I WAS BOTHERING HER, A MAINTENANCE MAN BROUGHT ME TO THE LOCKER AND OPENED IT BUT BY THAT TIME SOMEONE ELSE HAD BEEN USING IT. I FEEL I WAS LUCKY THEY DIDN'T TAKE MY KEYS AND WALLET. BUT THIS LEAVES A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH NOW. I UNDERSTAND ABOUT PRIVACY BUT THE CLUB SHOULD HAVE A RESPONIBILITY TO THEIR MEMBERS. IF CAMRAS WERE IN LOCKER ROOMS WE WOULD KNOW WHO DID THIS ! MALES OR FEMALE MANAGERS COULD VIEW FOOTAGE OF THESE CAMRAS AND THIS WOULD STOP ALL CRIMES TO THEIR MEMBERS. NO STRANGER CAME INTO THIS CLUB AND ROBED MY LOCKER, HE WAS A MEMBER . SCARY TO KNOW LA FITNESS LETS THIS GO ON. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED TO SAY THE LEAST

VALERIE H, GENERAL MANAGER, LAFITNESS SNELLVILLE, GA HARASSED ME BECAUSE I SAID NO TO A DATE

A while back I was practicing an African dance in the bathroom after a cycling class, when this lady walked up to me and asked me what type of dance that was. I explained to her it's an African dance I do to sweat before lifting weights.

She said she likes the dance, and asked me to teach her sometime. She also asked me if there was any African clubs, around where people do the dance. We got in a conversation, in which she asked me to take her out, and teach her my African culture. At first, the conversation seem like a normal girls conversation, until I told her she can join my girls when we go out but she said "oh I meant you and me, I will like to get to know you".

Her response was not very clear to me, so I asked her "you mean on a date". She said yes. I wasn't sure of her intention, so I was straightforward in my respond to her that I am happily married with kids. It was a weird response from me, but I wanted to be clear.

Judging from a reaction to my response, I know I was right by giving her that response because she quickly said "OK" and rushed off. I felt weird since my husband works out in the same gym, but I let it go and never really discussed it until now. I realized now that Valerie H, the General Manager at the LA fitness, Snellville; the lady I had this encounter with never let this go. Frankly, I don't understand why.

Since this incident, she has been my worst nightmare every time I worked out at the gym. She walked up to me while I was lifting weights to tell me she has been observing me take too long on the equipment, and asked me to move from the machine. It didn't really bother me. But then she kept on; it was one situation over the other.

She kept walking to me all the time with one complain over the other. She complained to me that my kids are jumping on some toys, so she will revoke the kids membership if that continues. There was also the complain about how I needed to be 10 mins early to pick my kids up, when the kids club close. This might have been place on my file because everything I check-in at the gym, the person at the front desk will tell me this.

It was so bad and embarrassing every time I came to the gym with my friends to workout. There was also the incident about my son being alienated from playing, because they thought my son has a sickness. I walk up there to see my son crying. I explained to her and even insisted on getting my son's doctors report if I needed to.

That today, I felt so bad for my 6 year old who had nothing to do with whatever issue this woman had with me. There was also the incident when she walk up to me again, when I was practicing my dance and informed me that it against LA fitness regulation to do that kind of dance and offered for me to join the Zumba class. At this point, I fully understood what was happening, and I kept telling myself she will get over it and stop. But it never stop.

Another incident occurred when she yell out my billing information at the front desk because our card information was outdated. I felt so embarrassed and quickly called my husband to update the card. Every time I saw her at the gym, I knew she will have a problem with something I do. Yesterday, I was meeting my children at the front desk, as my husband brought them in, when Valerie called my middle son, my 4 year old.

My son didn't want to go. She said to my son "you finally did your hair". My son finally walk up to her, and she asked "who did that hair"? From her reaction, she seem as if the braids was ugly to her.

I walked away. Today, I was working out with my usual workout buddies, when Valarie and another employee walked by. She did that twice and then walk up to us to tell my girlfriends they can't video. They seemed confused because they were not taking any videos.

I was finishing up my sets, and she yelled "am waiting to talk to you". She informed me that she has been observing me coach my friends and revoked my membership. I called out to my friends, to explain to her that we were working out together. She yelled "I am dealing with you not them".

She also informed me that the VP also observed me coaching my friends, but when I asked for the VP's number; she quickly change her story. I don't really care about my membership because what this woman put me through, took away my interest from going to that gym frequently, so I started running at home and going to a different gym to avoid her. However, what she did to me was wrong, and I want the world to know this, so she doesn't use her power at the job to continue to sexually discriminate against others.

I believe she will do this to another women just because she can get away with it. It not fair, and it's not right...........

Cheap policies and Behavior !!!!!

I just visited to LA Fitness near Lake Forest, on Sep 22, 2016. When I entered there, they treated so nice, after that they literally forced us to join the membership. Firstly, they told me that the trainer is included in the membership plan and they didn't told me about the monthly auto pay .They told they will charge 100$ for membership, as initiation fee and 35$ monthly payment. They gave some papers to sign, but they didn't give us enough time to read it. They took my card. They charged 2 months extra. When I asked them whey they took extra month. They should inform me, its the minimum thing they have to do, before they cut extra month (money) from my account. I was charged 168.98$ totally. I am so much frustrated with their behavior. At that moment, I asked them to refund my money. After that, their behavior changed completely. They talked very harsh. They told they are not gonna refund the amount at any cost. I have been in US, since 4 years. This is the first time, I have seen some one treating very bad with a customer. This is the first issue (Very very Rude Behavior) I had faced with them. I came to LA Fitness for just 2 days( On Sep 23 &24). Due to some personal reasons I couldnt able to go the LA Fitness. They have deducted another 35$, which is a monthly auto pay. When I asked them to cancel my membership. They gave a form, they told me to go to the post office, put some stamp on it and mail to them. Initially, when they did the membership and all, they didnt ask me to mail. but for cancellation, they are forcing me to do the mail. My friend, who recently joined in the LA Fitness, faced the same issue. When she went to cancellation, they didn't ask for the mailing process. I am seriously shocked with their behavior. Why they had different rules to customers. For cancellation also, they were charging money. Cancellation is my right. Why I should take the pain for the cancellation. I had very bad experiences with them. I strongly suggest to stay away with them.

My member barcode # F2458****. We have an issue with Tamarra R.

She introduce herself as female manager of La fitness in 14304. On 10/21/16 My wife came to la fitness and paid Tamarra in cash for gym. Tamarra knew that although my wife made a payment the account was going to be debitted but did not explain this to my wife. On Tuesday my wife card got charged again.

We went and spoke to the manager who was rude and refuse to have the card credit back. She further went on to threatened to cancel my wife membership and write false information on my wife file. Tamarra is not educated and she does not understand how business work. My wife has brought over ten people to join LA fitness from the Y.M.CA.

The reason sale are not as high in numbers is the manager you have and the professionalism and people skills she lack. my phone number is 716507****

A toxic place to be!

This gym is an absolute terror. I have never seen more incompetent employees, including the the sales men/women, personal training manager, and personal trainers. First off, I wanted to use the gym for one day. The employees hounded me to buy a full membership.

Later, I decided to engage in a personal training assessment after receiving approximately 5 calls at home when I cancelled at one point due to work concerns. When finally attending an assessment, the man was rude and ridiculed me about my weight. Then, the personal training manager was conniving, always saying, "I rarely do this for anyone." Needless to say, all he does is try to make sales and leads individuals to believe they are getting a fantastic deal.

The trainer ALWAYS led me through the same exercises, rotating through every other session. I could do these exercises on my own. And, the cost of the sessions is a RIP OFF. Word to the wise: Do not the pay this amount!! Save your money.

Lastly, all the gyms are dirty. After exercising on the equipment, the exercisers or meat-heads do not clean anything!! And, do not even go into the locker room. Disgusting. I fear the staph infections that may ensue.

Lean Kleine is now new Regional Director of East Coast ,this is person hired without any education how to follow elementary respect dignity to Instructors .She does all what she wants create rules by itself ,takes classes off after business hours and in in one word abusive rude disrespectful employee ,here is many of Instructors and members who will sign document to replace her with Educated and respectful Director who have skills in area how to communicate with Instructors.The following Letter to Protection of Human Board will follow of two employees Regional Director Lisa Tagaloa and Lean Kleine.

Whirlpool, shower,

I go to the one on Eastchester Rd.Last month my friend and I went on a Saturday morning and when we go we just go to the whirlpool and steam room we got there we shower and head for the whirlpool when some guy that work there told us we cant use the whirlpool because they doing a exercise class in the pool, we ask him what that have to do with us using the whirlpool and we went in, he went and turn off the whirlpool I think that was so rude and on call for we are not going there for free we have the right to use what ever equipment we want use as long as it is working.The shower stales and floor is dirty, hair all over the stales they need to wash down the walls and flooring with lysol. The place is nasty.

I have no idea why you would have Shawn back @ Greenbelt. He is insolent , disrespectful. I went there on Thursday last week to cancel my membership. I also said a few words to Shawn about why he was back. He told me like last time that I didn't have to go there. the gym is 10 min from my house and it is an inconvenience to go to another gym.He is constantly on his phone and he isn't the least bit personal.The only time he is the least bit friendly is when he sees young women come in the gym. I know you can find someone who is easier to get along with.

UPDATE!!!!... Just joined the gym at Salem the 15 minutes I stood talking with the front desk manager said hello to a member entering calling him by name... She also said good day to a member leaving... Also acknowledging him by name!!! This is going to be a good place for me... Does it have all the Frills and fluff as LA Fitness Conyers no but it has everything I need all equipment and classes and they have steel or maybe metal weights not sure definitely not coated in plastic... And the great customer service seals the deal. This is how I choose to spend my money

Front desk help at the Midway location in Carrollton, TX are very rude unfriendly and make inappropriate remarks as well as use foul language. I absolutely do not want to spend my money somewhere that employs people that act this way.

Yesterday I was rushed to get change as I was late for my cycling exercise at 9:15 AM . I inadvertently used unlocked locker with a small sweater with car keys inside. I saw a note when I was finished on my routine to see front desk manager. I asked the manager that yes it was my mistake and didn't see the sweater. He said that the customer was rushing to go home, I told him yes I realized that it was my mistake. I told him that he could at least use intercom/ paging system as I always use same locker if not occupied.

His response was that yes I'm the manager here and next time check the locker before using it and he left.

I love LA fitness and not a reason for me and my wife to cancel our membership.

*** We are paying customers and doesn't need an attitude problem after enjoying our work out.

Hello reviewers, walked into L A Fitness in Elmhurst, new facility, and come to find out, NO SAUNA, KNOR STREAMROOM! ALSO, SPACE IS SMALLER THEN EXPECTED. Unbelievable! That's one of the main point factors of having a gym! DEFINITELY OWNERS WEREN'T THINKING OF OLDER GUESTS, MAINLY MID YOUNGER CROWD.. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
