La Fitness in Saint Paul, Minnesota - Cancelation of membership

My son joined under my membership for the summer while home from college. He called the LA Fitness and they directed him to go online which he did and then he called LA to confirm the membership was canceled. They failed to tell him he had to mail the cancelation in nor did they provide an address. I hate these kind of scams. After my son went online to cancel the follow months bill was decreased by his monthly payment amount but then the next month the costs increase and I called LA Fitness. They stated he did not cancel his membership. LA Fitness SUCKS

Well, the cancellation form that he pulls up online has a mailing address on it...why wouldn't you think it would need to be mailed in? All you have to do it stamp it, I don't think it could get any easier than that...

La Fitness in Other Location, New York - Pregnant in preterm labor must walk in to cancel

I am pregnant in preterm labor on bed rest since 08/12/2013. My husband is in the military and has been deployed. I am unable to work and I am on medical disability until the birth of my child. I explained all of this information in detail to the representative at LA fitness over the phone. He explained in order to cancel my membership I would have to physically walk into the fitness center when a manager was present and there was no other alternative despite my medical situation. Due to my inability to work my income and has since changed and it was my intention to not incur any unnecessary expenses. So due to these reasons I physically walked into the clinic in order to avoid any further charge from LA fitness. I'm surprised that they do not have a policy in place or make exceptions when a member has a medical reason for being unable to physically go to the fitness center. They also required me to pay for an additional two months.

LA Fitness Makes it diffucult to cancel your membrehip

I've been trying to cancel my membership to LA Fitness. They state there is 'no contract' however cancelling is an extreme hassle. I submitted the paperwork requested to cancel and it was misplaced so i was asked to 'MAIL' it again. Yes you have to mail them some forms to cancel which ridiculous. Finally i blocked my credit card and and their phone number and LA fitness started calling me 5-6 times EARLY in the morning from different numbers across the country. The company operates like a credit card troll scamming people out of their money by not letting members cancel without a hassle.

La Fitness in Miami, Florida - Corporate greed at its worst

Do not go to LA Fitness. One of the worst companies you will ever deal with. compassion? Forget about it. Customer service? Forget about it. I signed up for personal training with them a couple weeks ago. A week later, I lost some of my income because of budget restraints at work. So I went in to cancel my contract, since I no longer had an extra $1,500 laying around for personal training. And what do they say? If I want out of my contract I need to pay them $800. I attended ONE training session and they want me to spend $1000 to not have them train me again. And what do they tell me? "There is no one with the power to cancel your contract. No matter who you talk to, they are going to tell you the same thing. Your only option is to pay us another $800 on top of the $200 you already gave us." And they say this with a straight face. They say this like that is how every company treats you (charging you a fortune for NOTHING). Don't go here. Its sad that this is what it has come to. Charge people through the roof in exchange for nothing because you initialed a piece of paper saying you wanted help getting in shape

Sorry about your situation, but a contract is a contract, legally binding.

@Anonymous

Yes it is. But a lot of companies care about their customers a little more than to stand behind an absurd contract.

A lot of them write in clauses for financial distress and other life changing events instead of trying to screw their customers out of money they simply don't have. I assure you that 800 dollars is way more important to him than it is to the multimillion dollar company.

1000 dollars for a single workout? :x

La Fitness in Everett, Washington - Unauthorized CC charges

LA Fitness charged a credit I never even gave them!! I had another account with Capital One that I previously had paid them with. I've been engaged in some back an forth discussion with LA Fitness as their personal training program is nothing more than a scam ...they hook you in with a salesman who pretends to be a trainer, makes it sound alluring, once you sign on the dotted line he's not even the one training you ...heck you're lucky to get the same trainer more than twice. Each traininer has been more incompetent than the last. I will NOT pay for inadequate cr*ppy service. I've paid for the sessions I've attended. I'll even pay my monthly dues but their personal training program is not what they sell you on. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, requested a new card/number and requested to block the merchant so they are not able to charge to the new card. Now I have to fight with LA Fitness to cancel my training program.

Totally fraud at LA Fitness!! I just found out last night that LA Fitness in the last 2 months tried to fraudulently charge my credit card 50 times thoughout the last 2 months beyond my monthly $35.

normal charge. As I dont keep much money in there except when I want to pay bills, there was insufficient funds and the first 40 attempts to steal money from me were unsuccessful. But in the last week, 10 of their phoney charges went through and I was charged $29.95 6 times and $5.

4 times fraudulently!! IAnyone else have this experience, pls post a msg here!!

La Fitness in Leesburg, Virginia - Liars

Greg Rickert is a liar and cheater. Do not sign a contract with him, he will go back and change the terms and then forge your signature. Which I got to find out when I went to cancel. To make it worse, the staff is unfriendly and the gym is dirty. I know have to deal with unauthorized charges on my account and an unhelpful staff that say that's what I signed up for, despite my copy of the contract saying something completely different. What a rip off! But no worries, I'm sure my credit card issuer will take care of it.
