This gym is an absolute terror. I have never seen more incompetent employees, including the the sales men/women, personal training manager, and personal trainers. First off, I wanted to use the gym for one day. The employees hounded me to buy a full membership....

Complaint for S. Tampa LA Fitness (AGAIN)

Arrived to find the pool unusable again this morning 1/25/16 The pool is over full and the gutter system is not working. It has been this way since last Friday. The hot tub is cold and overflowing all over the floor. The PH level and chlorine levels in the pool are bad and the pool is cloudy and almost murky greenish. Unacceptable. Do we need to call the health department or Channel 8 on your side to get this continuing problem resolved? We pay money to use the pool and it is not crystal clear or even close.

I am in the same place right now my trainer is harassing me to pay him for "Free" sessions he didn't put in the system! I called corp.

and they are not doing nothing about it! I told them I wanted to cancel because I don't feel comfortable going anymore. They told me to go to a different location!

I was like WTF i sign up in that location because is close to my home i am not going to drive around town just because the *** trainer are asking me for money on the side.! I am very disappointed about this whole thing!

La Fitness - Credit Card Charge Review from Tampa, Florida

Rip off bunch of lying cheats. Do not get scammed by signing their contract. You will be lied to when signing for training. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD. South Tampa is the worst ever. They will keep charging you and then they will try and steal by sneaking $3000 as a contract figure and then try to steal half of that when you cancel. The charge to cancel is not the one extra month few like promised it is for half of the year. You will be scammed stay away particularly at their so called Signature club. You have been warned. I've already sent a letter to cancel months ago. If issue does not get resolved after their months of continuously charging me I will sue for continued harassment. And yes I already dealt with my credit card company and they were lied to also. Anyone on in South Tampa ready for a class action?

La Fitness

La Fitness has many machines. You don't have to wait for one for long. Everyone goes so often you start to get to know everyone! The lock rooms, showers, sonna and pool is ALWAYS clean. I never felt disgusted with La Fitness. Best time to sign up is on a holiday for best sales. Their classes are amazing and work so well. If you can't handle the class, there's no pressure to leave early. Many people do the class until they get tired. There's also so many classes to chose from! If you're looking for the best place to work out, LA fitness is it!

LA Fitness music sucks

90% of the people working out with me at the Venice gym are over 60. We've asked about getting some "Baby Boomer" music but are told we have to listen to the mindless, headbanger screeching every morning while we work out. We hate the "music" being played on the TVs in the gym and are considering organizing a picket line on the street to protest this discrimination against seniors. Since LA Fitness took over from Lifestyles the gym is going to the dogs. Many of us are also considering changing our membership to the nearby YMCA. We'll wait a couple of weeks to see if we get any relief, then we're "taking it to the streets".

I'm a member of their Alpharetta, GA club. Just now, I'm back from the gym having "enjoyed" 45 min of music aimed at girls who just got their first period.

Get this, I counted over 20 men and women out of less than 30 total (slow afternoon as usual) with earphones trying to escape from the so-called music the club was giving us.

If you make a complaint, they won't listen. My ultimate "complaint"--and I'm pretty serious about that--is to cancel my membership and go elsewhere.

Unfortunately LA Fitness is doing great and new clubs are sprouting up everywhere. I was dumb enough to become a member and now I am stuck with it but unable to go to the gym.

Whether it is early morning or late at night, the music is blaring and uncomfortable. There is no place in the gym where one can find peace. Try meditating in the jacuzzi or listening to the bubbles. All you will hear is the loud music with its subliminal messages that dumb down your thinking processes.

Go to the sauna and try contemplating your next creative project – forget it you can’t. Music is still pounding into your ears. They are looking for that mindless gym goer with no thoughts of their own who can appreciate being brainwashed on a regular basis. Work outs go to the hypnotic rhythm of the music and its messages of trivial lyrics made for the monkey brain.

Listening to your own head phones don’t work, that music goes through everything, even ear plugs. Ideally, music should be like television, only audible for those who want to plug into it.

Instead we are captive and can't walk out because we have a membership. Now I have a membership to a gym I can’t even go to.

That is great you should picket a fitness club that sounds like a great idea and a great workout at the same time. I too want to picket the crazy kids that won't keep off my lawn and you seem to know people that would join my cause we should get in touch.

Bradenton La Fitness is anything but fit

Since the local LifeStyles gym has been taken over by LA Fit, it has become clear to me that they care little about their customers. Or cleanliness. Or employee attitudes. Or equipment. One thing seems to matter: signing up new membership contracts. Employees wander about the facility, texting when they should be cleaning/inspecting. One shower has had used bandages laying in it for 9 days so far and counting. One day last week the ladies had at least 1/2 of their toilets out of service for several hours. It's a long list. Checking-in can sometimes be a real challenge as I have seen 8 associates chat with each other and no one seems to care about customers who wish to maintain their workout schedule. It is no surprise that many regulars have given notice that they are leaving to go to another gym. I will do the same.

I lift at the Cortez location. I have yet to find a contact for the manager Sarah P. When I called, the desk clerk did not have her phone number.... It is becoming more and more common for no one to show up before 5:00 am to unlock the gym. A group of us waited 45 mins this morning, even a trainer, and the desk clerk never showed to unlock the doors. I had my pre-workout inmy system and was going for a PR on dead lifts today. That may not mean anything to a LA Fitness person reading this, but to any real gym goer/lifter you get it.

Also, the weights are NEVER racked correctly or even picked up when we do get a chance to get in at 5:00 am to lift. Having to look for 45s for the squat rack or having to pick many many weights up off the floor to begin my limited session is not what I pay for.

To anyone reading this...find another gym besides LA Fitness.

If any person associated with LA Fitness wishes to speak to me personally about this, I lift M-F at the Cortez 4901 location from 5:00am - 6:00am...when its open. I'll be in the squat rack. :(

Sorry you experienced such an inconvenience. Try to think of how it felt as one of the top trainers in the area who was *** on by LA Fitness.

All personal trainers who were with Lifestyle got emails one day stating that all of our medical benefits were being terminated, our 401k terminated and all of our vacation and sick days would be obliterated......with NO warning. And how about your pay being cut from something that you can actually support a family on to being paid $6 a training session. And being told your facebook page was being "watched" by LA Fitness Corporate and that you shouldn't have certain people on your friends list on facebook because they work for competitors in the fitness industry. And seeing your clients screwed over by rude treatment from those %%$$#@ from LA Fitness corporate.

So forgive us if we weren't running around inspecting equipment when we were worried about how in the hades we are going to pay our mortgage, pay our bills and feed our children. This company is the worst ever and I don't recommend them to ANYONE. Especially for personal training. What quality trainer with the knowledge, experience and expertise in the business is going to work for $6 a session and no benefits and being treated like the east end of a horse going west.

They care nothing about members or employees. ONLY about the dollar.

Wow, that's a loaded quoetisn. So much depends on many factors such as male or female, age, both of which you have already answered.

Also your driving record, where you live, sometimes even your credit rating are considered in the cost of your policy.Another thing is whether you need full coverage or not. Generally if you have a loan on the car you will need full coverage whereas if the car is paid for and possibly older you may get by with liability.

Most states require some medical insurance and uninsured motorist coverage as well.I found a site, there are many, where you can simply enter your zip code and they will provide free insurance quotes from a number of companies in your area. This way you quickly get several rates to compare without any obligation to buy.Hope this will be of help.Good luck!
